Stellantis invests $100M into California geothermal lithium project

Spurred by industry tension over the domestic shortage of critical battery minerals, Stellantis NV, the maker of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles is investing more than $100 million into a geothermal lithium project in California. With a goal to introduce more than 25 EV’s by 2030, this is a strategic business move.

So much of the permitting reform debate surrounds energy projects and advancing the energy sector, but what about conservation projects? Despite robust investment in environmental conservation through hunting and fishing licenses, Duck Stamps and multiple congressional bills encouraging wetlands conservation, projects to improve our environment are being held up alongside pipelines, wind farms, and other essential energy infrastructure. We can fix this stagnation, but only through bipartisan cooperation.
